TRIANGLE to ICOSAGON -All about Polygons(Let's plunge in #7)

Hi all, hope you are doing well.

Mathematics is an interesting area,

It's fun to dive into it.

Let's start today's topic. POLYGONS.

What is a shape?

SHAPE is the outline of something.

Then what are 2D shapes?

2D shapes are shapes with two dimensions such as width and height.

Do you heard about Polygons?

Polygons are 2 dimensional closed shapes.
They are joining with 3 or more line segment each other.

Then what is regular polygon and irregular polygon?
polygon with all the sides are equal and all interior angles are equal is regular polygon.
examples are    square , equilateral triangle.
Polygon with different interior angles is called irregular polygon.
examples are  rectangle , trapezoid

An n-gon is a polygon with n sides.
for example, a triangle ia a 3-gon.
A simple polygon is one which does not intersect each other.

now, let's study the names of polygons

Polygon with 3 sides is known as a TRIANGLE
Polygon with 4 sides is known as a QUATRILATERAL
Polygon with 5 sides is known as a PENTAGON
Polygon with 6 sides is known as a HEXAGON
Polygon with 7 sides is known as a HEPTAGON
Polygon with 8 sides is known as a OCTAGON
Polygon with 9 sides is known as a NANOGON
Polygon with 10 sides is known as a DECAGON
Polygon with 11 sides is known as a HENDECAGON
Polygon with 12 sides is known as a DODECAGON
Polygon with 13 sides is known as a TRIDECAGON
Polygon with 14 sides is known as a TETRADECAGON
Polygon with 15 sides is known as a PENTADECAGON
Polygon with 16 sides is known as a HEXADECAGON
Polygon with 17 sides is known as a HEPTADECAGON
Polygon with 18 sides is known as a OCTADECAGON
Polygon with 19 sides is known as a ENNEADECAGON
Polygon with 20 sides is known as a ICOSAGON

Woah! This should be easy enough!
Bye, and stay tuned for the next blog! :-)
